Annie McDee perused a junkshop in search of a present for a man, encountering an old painting which stirred her interest. Investing in the eighteenth century masterpiece known as The Improbability of Love, she soon finds buyers vying to acquire it, uncovering the painting's owners and their secrets in the process.
